At first I was doubtful that this was going well. Flynn wrote extensive back story in this book. He could've left half of the book out without taking away any of the actual story. It seemed to me that he also spent a lot of time trying to explain how politics, field tactics, and the three letter agencies worked. All of this gave me doubt that I would care for this book. It also seemed that he was writing this book as part of a deadline. That was all until I arrived where the story turned. It wasn't the normal Mitch Rapp action in the book, it was more about the political maneuvering, which to me, is just about as exciting.
